CLEC's

  • GCG Broadband supplies fiber optic cabling, connectivity and solutions to competitive local exchange carriers.  In the United States, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) is a telephone company competing with established local telephone businesses by providing their own network and switching but having access to the ILEC's original infrastructure.

CLECs arose as a result of the Telecommunication Act of 1996, which was intended to promote competition among both long distance and local phone service providers.

The term is used to differentiate between new or potential competitors and established or incumbent local exchange carriers (ILEC).

GCG Broadband supports CLECs nationwide as they expand their fiber facilities, data centers, and other products that do not require ILEC involvement.
