Scope

Exane® multi-conductor transit cables are a rugged, flame-retardant construction. They are suitable for installation indoors or outdoors in metals trays, conduit, underground duct, or for direct burial. The cables have excellent flexibility and resist crush, low-temperature cracking, moisture and petrochemical fluids. The Exane® thermoset insulation system provides a conductor component with superior cut-through, abrasion resistance and electrical overload characteristics.

Performance Standards

• Meets all requirements of RSCC Spec. DAC 1168B
• Passes the spread of fire and smoke emission in accordance with NFPA 130-2014 article 8.6.7.11
• FT4/IEEE1202 with smoke per UL 1685
• Single conductors pass UL VW-1 flame test

Construction

Conductor: Annealed, tinned copper per ASTM B33, B172, AAR S-501, and AAR RP-585
Insulation: Exane® 15 crosslinked polyolefin with crosslinked modified fluoropolymer jacket
Color Code: As specified by customer
Fillers: When required, flame retardant and non-hygroscopic
Shield: Tin copper braid or as specified by customer
Binder Tape: Non-hygroscopic and non-wicking
Jacket: Exane® crosslinked polyolefin
*RSCC rated 125°C, 130°C overload, 250°C short circuit
